1944 (23 Sept.) commercial envelope to Abadan bearing, on reverse, 1941 3½a. bright blue tied by light strike of Type 11 machine d.s., "passed by censor/kuwait" h.s. in violet and Basra transit c.d.s. with arrival datestamp (2.10) alongside and, on face, Iraq censor h.s. in violet. Photo

Note: Terry Jones recorded only 19 WWII censor covers from Kuwait, most of them addressed to UK or USA. Only one was addressed to another Gulf destination. Only three were dated 1944 and seven were dated 1945.
