1847-54 Embossed
1852 (16 Aug.) part entire letter (very fragile and with reinforcements) from London to Roma "Via Belgium" bearing 1841-53 1d. red and 1841 2d. vertical pairs (2, one defective), tied by barred numeral '2', offered together with embossed 1/- green irregular block of eleven with clear margins, also cancelled by barred numeral '2' (various folds, tears and biro cancel at top), believed to originate from the same entire. Once a remarkable franking, it remains a very scarce multiple. R.P.S. Certificate for embossed block (2015). Most unusual.
