Plate 2 state 3: in black, a sheet of ten of the original twelve impressions on white wove paper, the upper left pair having contemporarily excised possibly for further experimental reasons, eight impressions cancelled by fine strikes of an experimental concentric circle cancellation and impressions 11 & 12 cancelled by fine strikes of complete upright experimental Maltese Crosses in Black, ink manuscript at top at sides and below "No 1 June 10th and "Present Black & CW" (CW meaning Common wetting) in the hand of L. de Nicolas (Joshua Bacons Clerk) and additionally annotated in ink Manuscript "Present Black & CW" in the hand of Joshua Bacon at foot; adhesives with a few very minor imperfections as to be expected on an experimental multiple of this size, though in no way detracting from the very fine appearance of this great and highly important line engraved showpiece.
