1839 embossed essay in white comprising a Crown and "VR" cypher and the words "post office" beneath, attributed to Benjamin Cheverton, very fine and exceptionally rare, there being only six examples recorded, four of which exist in a strip kept by the Royal Philatelic Collection, a fifth example was last listed for sale in the 1934 Colonel Bates collection.
