1814 (30 May), entire two page letter from Sarah Siddons (1755-1831, the famous Welsh actress and the most noted tragedienne of the 18th. Century) to Lady Harrington, Hotel, Hanover Sq. with large part of Two Penny/Unpaid marking and on reverse red 8 O'Clock time stamp for 1 June. In the letter Siddons regrets Lady Harrington's indisposition, which prevented her attending a musical, and she is now engaged in the business of her "poor little Indian Babes", and the manner of getting their servants sent away; Jane Stanhope, Countess of Harrington was a society hostess, heiress and a noted beauty
