1892 (30 Sept.) a signed letter from the postmaster J.H. Garnier to the British Resident F.J. Moss noting the enclosure of £100 towards payment for the new postage stamps (the 1892 issue) and bearing a good strike of the circular "government of the cook islands" handstamp in purple.
