1858-59 perf 11¾ ½d. deep rose and 6d. brownish grey pair, both cancelled by Montreal 4-ring "21" on 1859 (19 Mar.) envelope to France, showing despatch datestamp, circular-framed "pd", London Paid transit d.s. (4.4) and Calais entry datestamp; one 6d. affixed over left edge and the envelope with top flap missing. A remarkable franking of perforated Pence values with the largest recorded multiple of the 6d. on cover, and one of only two covers known at the 12½d. Cunard Line rate to France (this carried on "Arabia"). Photo
