1903 (14 Feb,) stampless envelope to Lucknow marked "On Field Service Aden Column. No Postage Stamps available" and sent by "Pte. F.C. Stenning, C. Coy, 1st Hants Det, Dthala" and countersigned by the commanding officer and bearing a faint strike of unframed "active service/unpaid" in purple, circular "overland postage/due" charged at the soldier's postage rate of ½a., plus "T" in circle; the reverse bearing Aden (15.2), and various transit c.d.s. including the diminutive oval "unpaid/23 fe 03/lucknow" in green. A fine and highly important cover from this campaign. Photo
