1945 Pen and pencil sketch initialled "B", signed in his characteristic blue ink "J.C.Smuts" below his portrait. Accompanied by a copy letter on United Nations notepaper written during the San Francisco conference, during which Smuts was instrumental in drafting the UNO charter, returning the signed sketch to E. Maurice Bloch in New York (195x265mm)
