1908-1935 Royal Pardons.
1908 signed by King Edward VII addressed to the Governor of the Prison at St. Albans remitting the sentence of "Elizabeth Cook ... convicted of obtaining goods by false pretences and sentenced to six weeks imprisonment", countersigned by Herbert Gladstone, Home Secretary (with marginal paper adhesion not affecting the signatures): 1926 signed by King George V to the Governor of Wandsworth Prison remitting the sentence of Albert Ebdon "convicted of impeding transport contrary to the Emergency Regulations" at the time of the National Strike, countersigned by W.Joynson Hicks, endorsed in pencil "Boys Prison"; 1935 to the Governor of Wormwood Scrubs signed by Queen Mary, Prince Edward Prince of Wales and Prince Albert, Duke of York acting as Counsellors of State during the illness of the King, remitting the sentence of Edward Ravenhill, found guilty of a driving offence, countersigned by John Simon.
