Navy Office warrant to "The Clerk of ye Cheque of his Majesty's yard at Chatham" requiring "You to enter upon his Majesy's shipp the Orange fireship soe soone as you shall understand from the Masters Attendant her readiness for it such seamen as shall from time to time be sent to you by ourselves or her Comander untill the number at present belonging to her be compleated ffourty, which is the complement allowed her for this present voyage." Signed "Jo: Mennes", "T. Middleton" and "S Pepys". Fine and a wonderful example.
