1861 (25 July), envelope from Copenhagen to St. Thomas, endorsed Via Southampton franked 1854-59 dotted spandrels 16s horizontal pair and single, 1858 wavy line spandrels 4s. and 8s., tied by "1" in concentric circles cancellations and with Copenhagen c.d.s. additionally tying the 8s., transit and arrival markings (16.8) on reverse; some faults including a crease affecting the 16s., nevertheless a fine, colourful and very rare franking.
