1913 (22 Jan.) envelope from Cape to Sweden posted on board the Armadale Castle' at Madeira en route from Southampton, bearing Transvaal 1d. (5) tied by three strikes of 'union of south africa/ ocean p.o.' c.d.s., the letter was then picked up by the 'Saxon' en route from Cape Town to Southampton on the same day for onward transmission via Britain to Sweden; scarce on such a letter and to such a destination.
