(4) and 1/- (11) all cancelled and tied to piece by 'johannesburg' c.d.s.; the postage due stamps affixed presumably to reflect the total amount due on a large batch of mail to a business address; a fascinating and important large franking of Transvaal Postage Dues used post union. Note: Transvaal Postage Due stamps were the only such stamps available in the Union of South Africa at the time and their usage permitted prior to the release of Union Postage Dues in 1914. See pg 521, Southern African Mails by Trotter (2016)
