1868 (May) two envelopes addressed to Mowbray Gray aboard the Transport Ship 'Marlborough' "Abyssinian Expedition, Annesley Bay, Abyssinia" and redirected to Aden. The first dated (15 May) bearing G.B. 1d. (the 9d. stamp cut off) tied by London duplex, the reverse with the Field Force c.d.s. (30.5) in black with Aden Steamer c.d.s.; the second dated (22 May) is a large part mourning envelope bearing 1867-80 10d. red-brown tied by Brighton duplex, the reverse with the Field Force c.d.s. (6.6) in black and Aden Steamer c.d.s. Covers sent during the closing phase of the expedition. (2 covers)
