1927 (May) Opening of Parliament House, Canberra 1½d. brownish lake block of four, variety imperforate between horizontally, one with some minor creasing otherwise fine mint. A rare multiple. S.G. 105a, £13,000; BW 132b, $13,500

Note: At least three sheets of 80 each with one horizontal line of perforations missing were found, yielding 30 vertical pairs of this error. Of these, 22 pairs have been identified as surviving. There is a block of four in the Royal Philatelic Collection, and a vertical pair in the R.T.P. Chapman collection, now part of the Australia Post archival collection.
