A18, with Scottish Provident Institution Association advertising sheet, 1840 (15 Dec.) from Dumfries to Ecclefechan, uprated with 1d. black, Plate 6, IC, with good to large margins tied by orange Maltese Cross of Dumfries with additional strike to envelope with Dumfries 15.12 boxed d.s. on reverse; re-folded at right prior to use, presumably to allow for enclosures, this fold lightly affecting the adhesive.
