1892 Bisects on cover to Germany duo including (24 Mar.) envelope "via Gibraltar" bearing 50c. bright lilac bisected diagonally and cancelled by superb "A26" duplex and with Gibraltar c.d.s. (24.3) at left, Madrid (28.3) and on the reverse arrival c.d.s. (31.3); the earliest recorded date of use of the 50c. bisect; (17 Sep.) envelope "via Gibraltar" bearing 40c. orange-brown bisected diagonally and 5c. green cancelled by "A26" duplex, the reverse with Gibraltar (19.9), Madrid (21.9) and arrival c.d.s. (24.9); just one of four know covers bearing the 40c. bisected, slightly mixed condition though an attractive duo.
