CA-CB pair and CD with close to good margins, tied by red Maltese Crosses to 1840 (Aug.) entire letter to Cottbus, Prussia, the pair additionally tied by "hamburg/8 aug", the entire is marked "Hull Steamer", "10¾" in red manuscript and struck with "macduff/penny post"; on the reverse "hull/ship letter" and transit markings. CD cut from the reverse of the entire and re-affixed to the face, a small square of new paper has thus been added to the reverse. An extraordinary and attractive cover. B.P.A.
