Scotland, £1 proof, one vignette, 1881 this collection has two unique banknotes. One proof, from 1881, is distinctive due to its lack of coloured panel. The bank, The Aberdeen Town and Country Banking Company, was founded in 1825, and a competitor of the North of Scotland Banking Company at the time. Years later, in 1907, the Aberdeen bank was absorbed into the 'North Bank', as the North of Scotland Banking Company was more commonly known
