Government of Brunei, Photographic Essay, $50, ND (5/7/1982), unissued design Greyscale photograph, unissued design, featuring a young Hassanal Bolkiah, the current Sultan of Brunei. Usually, Hassanal is viewed on banknotes sporting ceremonial headgear of various descriptions and appears older. Here, the young depiction of the Sultan can be seen without any headgear, suggesting that there was some experimentation in this essay with how he should appear on the face of banknotes.
