Roman Empire, Antoninus Pius (AD 138-161), AV Aureus, AD 140/141, Rome, ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P COS III, laureate and draped bust right, rev. togate Antoninus seated left on chair set on low platform, Liberalitas to left, draped with both hands emptying coins out of cornucopia into the fold of a toga, held out in both hands by togate citizen standing below, LIBERALITAS | AVG II in two lines in exergue, 7.13g, 5h (RIC III 74b; BMCRE 216 and Pl. V, no. 12 same dies; Biaggi 734 var. [bust type]; Calicó 1560), a touch of rub to hair, otherwise lustrous, almost extremely fine / good very fine, rare, in NGC holder, graded XF [Strike 5/5, Surface 3/5 ~ Edge Filing] (Cert. #6295544-001)
