The 'Kyrios' Collection | Kingdom of Baktria, Agathokles (c. 171-160 BC), AR Tetradrachm, in commemoration of Demetrios I, AR Tetradrachm, Panshir, c. 171-168, DIMITRIOY ANIKITOY Diademed and draped bust right, wearing elephant skin headdress rev. BASILEIONTOS AGATHOKLEOYS Herakles standing facing with club and lion skin in left hand and crowning himself with wreath in right, KP monogram to left field, DIKAIOY in exergue, 16.36g (Bop. series 17, A = Mitchener 146), light erosion to surfaces, still toned, lustrous and detailed, near extremely fine, one of only two examples of this excellent type, a former catalogue front-cover piece when first sold in these rooms in 2003
