The 'Kyrios' Collection | Kingdom of Thrace, Lysimachos (323-281 BC), AV Stater, Pella (?), diademed head of deified Alexander the Great right, with horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned left, holding Nike and leaning left elbow on shield at her side, a spear resting behind, monogram on left, 8.53g (Muller 507; Pozzi 1165; Ars Classica XIII, lot 682 = Ars Classica XVII, lot 410 (same dies); Vinchon (Apr. 1974), 88 (same dies)), beautifully-struck in high relief, with a dark, rich cabinet tone, lovely details and well-centred, some minor contact marks, but otherwise near extremely fine, a rare monogram variety
