(g) The Dr Frank Becker Collection | South Africa, Z.A.R., Paul Kruger (1892-1900), 'Single Shaft' Gold Half-Ponds, 1897, Pretoria (5), ZUID AFRIKAANSCHE REPUBLIEK, bare-headed and suited bust left, rev. 1/2 POND * 1897, eagle atop coat-of arms, single-shaft wagon below, edge milled, 3.96g, 12h, lightly cleaned and rubbed, with green staining to reverse, a bolder fine / near very fine; another, similar, edge milled, 3.99g, 12h, lightly cleaned with evidence of die clashing to eagle on reverse, otherwise a bolder very fine; another, as before, edge milled, 3.99g, 12h, gilt, otherwise very fine; another, as first, edge milled, 3.98g, 12h, hairline scratch to chest, otherwise lightly toned and residually lustrous, very fine; lastly, as before, edge milled, 3.96g, 12h (Hern Z43; Fb. 3; KM 9.2), hairline scratched and lightly sweated surfaces where removed from brooch mount, struck details barely very fine (5)
