Lot: 359

George V (1910-1936), 'Wreath' Crown, 1934, bare head left, rev. crown within wreath, edge milled, 28.25g, 12h (ESC 374; Bull 3647 [R2]; Spink 4036), lightly bagmarked, otherwise subtly toned with a pleasing residual lustre, very fine, the key date in series, one of only 932 pieces struck and thus very rare

Spink spectrographic assessment returns a median reading of 70.085% Ag in comparison to the previous lot which averages 57.455%. The authenticity of neither is in questioned by the cataloguer, but it is nevertheless interesting to see a finer standard silver being employed for this famous Crown rarity.
