NGC PF63 | Victoria (1837-1901), Pattern Proof 'Gothic' Crown, MDCCCXLVII [1847] UNDECIMO, by W Wyon, crowned 'Gothic' bust left, WW on truncation, rev. crowned shields cruciform, raised lettered edge downwards, 28.29g, 6h (ESC 288; Bull 2571; Spink 3883), tiny scratch before nose, otherwise sumptuously brilliant with warming hints of golden-purple before distinctively cameo portrait, sharply struck up and handsomely fresh for this ever-sought one-year type, a pleasingly good extremely fine, in NGC holder, graded PF63 (Cert. #6768679-002)
