George II (1727-1760), 'Roses and Plumes' Crown, 1735 OCTAVO, 5 over 5, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shields, roses and plumes in angles, fourteen strings to harp, upwards lettered edge, 30.01g, 6h (ESC 120; Bull 1663; Spink 3686), faint mark to the chin and a touch of rub to the hair, otherwise with a handsome lustre beneath darkly toned surfaces, near extremely fine, the reverse better
