NGC PF64 | George III (1760-1820), Restrike Silver Pattern Penny, 1805, by W J Taylor after C H Küchler [Soho Dies], GEORGIUS III • D : G • REX . laureate and draped bust right set lower in field, wearing wreath of ten leaves and three berries, brooch cut with six square-jewels, with tie ribands, raised but badly-cut K on truncation, rev. struck en médaille, larger BRITANNIARUM above, smaller 1805 date below, stop thereafter, Britannia seated left on rock amidst waves, holding trident in right hand, clasping branch with ten leaves, with shield in left, ship erased from field, no K, no tuft of grass behind heel, edge plain, 23.81g, 6h (D T Batty [1868], 4333, 4342 [not listed in this metal]; Montagu 34 [R6]; Murdoch 325a; HAS [1949] K600; BMC [Peck] 1297 [R90]), small peck marks on cheek, and above ship in reverse field, otherwise beautifully cabinet toned overlying brilliant fields, the devices and legends frosted, good extremely fine and much as issued, of the highest rarity, with only three examples traced in this metal, in NGC holder, graded PF64 (Cert. #6769462-008)
