NGC PF61 | George III (1760-1820), Silver Pattern Penny, 1797, on a thin flan, by C H Küchler [Soho Dies], GEORGIUS III • D : G • REX . large incuse legend within broad raised rim, larger laureate head right, wearing wreath of ten leaves and five berries, with tie ribands, K.: on truncation, rev. BRITANNIA. - 1797 large incuse legend within broad raised rim, Britannia seated left on rock amidst waves, holding olive branch of 11 leaves in right hand, clasping trident with shield in left, K raised on rock, ship sailing left with eight gun-ports in relief, edge plain, 17.07g, 6h (Adams 4; JJ Pittman 3768; Hesselgesser 2320; Gregory III, 242; Pywell-Phillips -; BMC [Peck] 1086 [KP4]), peripheral darkening across uniform purplish-gray tone overlying lustrous but historically wiped fields, minor rim marks, otherwise extremely fine, very rare, in NGC holder, graded PF61 (Cert. #6769462-005)
