(i.m) IhC AVTEM TRAnSIENS PER MEDIV ILLORV' IBAT, floriate cross, h at centre, trefoils and crowned leopards in angles, quatrefoil by leopard in first quarter, double saltire stops, 6.84g [105.56grns], 8h, i.m. pierced cross (Schneider I, 235; Isladulcie 66; Stewartby III, Class Ca, cf. Sale III, lot 939; North 1371; Spink 1742), lightly creased and resultingly flattened in parts, saltire graffitied to the left of King's head, otherwise with a pleasing red tone in the fields, nearing very fine, in PCGS holder, graded AU55 (Cert. #43252200)
