(g) Victoria (1837-1901), Type IA, Shieldback Sovereign, 1854, Serrifed 4, London, second young head left, W.W. in relief on truncation, rev. crowned 'normal' shield in wreath, edge milled, 7.98g [123.2grns], 6h (MCE 510; Marsh 32; EGC 1090; Bentley 57; Spink 3852C), an unfortunate historic scuff before mouth and to reverse rim, with a small die flaw in date, otherwise a wondrous survivor, fully lustrous with gorgeous peripheral orange flaring, sumptuously choice, practically as issued
