(x) Charles II (1660-1685), "Company of Royal Adventurers Trading into Africa", 'Elephant' Five-Guineas, 1668 VICESIMO, first laureate head right, elephant below, rev. crowned shields cruciform, eight strings to harp, emblem-adorned plain sceptres in angles, •+• DECVS • ET • TVTAMEN • ANNO • REGNI • VICESIMO lettered upwards, 41.02g, 6h (MCE 2; EGC 167; Spink 3329), the surfaces lightly burnished and the edges with evidence of sophisticated repair at quarters to obscure rim mount swivels, otherwise lightly haymarked but uniformly bold for strike with hints of original lustre in recesses, struck details about very fine, a representative type coin of the first issue of this most famous and popular series
