Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), 'Radiate / Small Cross' Type, Penny, 1044-1046, Norwich, Hringwulf, + EDPAR-D REX A, radiate crowned and draped bust left, rev. + RINCVLF ON NORÐ small cross pattée, 1.13g [17.4grns], 9h (Young [1919], lot 50; SCBI 26 [East Anglia], 1272; North 816; BMC I; Spink 1173), some softness to the peripheries, otherwise with a deep, dark cabinet tone, a really pleasingly good very fine, a rare and most wholesome coin
