K. Ingham was born at Hessel, Yorkshire on 29 June 1920. He served in the 2nd Lincolnshire Regiment (No. 4802771), part of the 3rd Division in the British Expeditionary Force, but was captured in the fierce battles defending Dunkirk and became P.O.W. No. 13245. He was incarcerated in Stalag V111B Lamsdorf for the rest of the war: released from the army in 1945, in 1950 he was recalled to the 1st Battalion, The King's Regiment for the Korean War. He was promoted Battalion M.T. Sergeant in 1953; sold together with typed research, an original King's cap badge and a Korean War 50-Year Commemorative Medal.
