(x) China, Imperial, Guangxu period (1875-1908), Jilin City, probably Wushen Year (1908), Sports Merit Medal, silver-gilt, mounted as worn on blue silk riband, good very fine and apparently unpublished
The Guangxu Emperor ruled from 25 February 1875-14 November 1908. Jilin City is the second-largest city and former capital of Jilin province in northeast China, it is also known as the River City because of the Songhua River surrounding much of the city.
With thanks to Lesley Wu for her work in translating the characters upon this very rare Medal, to reveal the details being its award.
