The mounted group of six miniature dress medals worn by Captain J. B. Glencross D.S.O., R.N., who spent almost his entire career of some thirty-plus years as an officer in the 'silent service', from its earliest days in the post-Edwardian era through to the eve of the Second World War

Distinguished Service Order, G.V.R., silver-gilt and enamel, top-bar adapted for mounting; 1914-15 Star; British War and Victory Medals; Defence and War Medals 1939-45, good very fine and better (6)

D.S.O. London Gazette 2 November 1917, 'in recognition of their services in submarines in enemy waters.' Sold with a miniature riband bar for the D.S.O. and Great War medals, this somewhat frayed in places.
