The K.C.M.G. group of nine awarded to Sir A. D. W. Pollock, City Chamberlain & Treasurer, City of London

The Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, K.C.M.G., Knight Commander's set of Insignia, comprising neck Badge, silver-gilt and enamel; breast Star, silver with appliqué centre in gold and enamel, with full length neck riband; 1911 Coronation; 1935 Jubilee; 1937 Coronation, these last three mounted as worn; Denmark, Kingdom, Order of the Dannebrog, Commander's neck Badge, gold and enamel, maker's marks to loop, with neck riband; Germany, Prussia, Order of the Crown, neck Badge, by Wilhelm, gold and enamel, in its fitted case of issue with neck riband; Sweden, Kingdom, Order of the Vasa, Commander's neck Badge, gold and enamel, with neck riband and in fitted C. F. Carlman, Stockholm case of issue; France, Republic, Legion of Honour, breast Badge, silver, gold centre and enamel, in its Arthus Bertrand, Paris case of issue; Norway, Kingdom, Order of St Olav, breast Badge, silver and enamel, in its J. Tostrup, Kristiana case of issue; Portugal, Order of Villa Vicosa, breast Badge, by Da Costa, Lisbon, silver, gold centre and enamel, maker's cartouche to reverse and in fitted case of issue, good very fine (Lot)

Adrian Donald Wilde Pollock was born on 24 September 1867, the son of Major-General Sir Frederick Richard Pollock K.C.S.I., Commissioner of Punjab. Having become a solicitor, he was Remembrancer (1903-12) and latterly became City Chamberlain (1912-42) & Treasurer, City of London. Having been appointed a Knight Bachelor in 1921, he was made K.C.M.G. in 1938 and died on 21 August 1943. Pollock married The Hon. Mary Honorah Rhoda Gully, daughter of William Court Gully, 1st Viscount Selby and had issue of two daughters.

Various Masonic awards (5), including Shakespear Lodge No. 99 Merit Medal, by H. T. Lamb, gold (18 carat - 38g - approximately £1300 at the time of print).

(ii)
Ladies' 1902 Coronation Medal.

(iii)
Prize Medals and Medallions (12), including Paris Municipal silver Medal 1904-08, reverse embossed 'Adrian Pollock Remembrancer'; Boer War Commemorative Medal 1899-1900, white metal issue, besides others.
