Henry Fuller Lancelot Duckworth was born in Mercara, India, in July 1877, son of Henry and Grace Georgiana. Appointed Assistant Surgeon 3rd Class in the Indian Services Medical Department on 1 April 1897, in this capacity he served on the Punjab Frontier and Tirah Expedition (Medal & 2 clasps) and in China for the Boxer Rebellion (Medal without clasp). Returning to India at the conclusion of the campaign, in June 1901 he married Louise Emily Eate in Bangalore and this union produce three children. Subsequently commissioned, during the Great War he appears to have remained in India with his M.I.C. noting entitlement to the British War Medal only. Duckworth died, in India, at Bangalore's Victorian Hospital, on 13 February 1946.
Sold with two unmounted contemporary silver miniature dress medals (India General Service 1895-1908, clasp Punjab Frontier 1897-98; China 1900, clasp Relief of Pekin, respectively) and a small file of copied research.
