4 'Ava' clasps to the Officers of the 1st Light Cavalry.
Patrick Cameron, son of Donald Cameron of Clunes, was born in 1784 and christened at Kimallie, Lochaber on 12 April that same year. Having joined the East India Company's service, he served with the 2nd Native Cavalry from 1814, the same year in which he married Piercy Chauvel, daughter of Colonel Chauvel at Ganjam, Madras. By the time of the First Burmese War was in Command of the 1st Light Cavlary (Medal & clasp). He eventually rose to become a full General in the Madras Cavalry on 24 October 1858 and died at Gordonston, Inverness on 8 December 1871.
