Henry VIII († 28 January 1547), Third Coinage, 1544-1547, or Posthumous Issue, under Edward VI, Transitional Period, Halfpenny, 1547-1551, Canterbury, Roman [?] lettering, reading h D G ROSA SINE SPINA, crowned 'Holbeinesque' facing bust, rev. CIVITAS CANTOR, long cross and trefoil of pellets in each angle, 0.24g, 8h, no m.m. (North 1861/1890; Spink 2387/2427), struck on a truncated and square-cut flan with further minor edge loss between 3 and 6 o'clock, otherwise rich dark tone, a handsomely uniform and imposing portrait, very fine and rare thus
