John (1199-1216), Shortcross Penny, Class 5aii*, Winchester, Miles, crowned bust facing, pellets in curls, sceptre to left, rev. + MILIS ON WINC [sic], S retrograde, short cross pommée, and in each angle, reversed, 1.32g, h, m.m. cross pommée (Mass 1335; Winchester 8:2591e this coin, dies Aa; North 969; Spink 1350B), pierced and plugged at E of obverse name, otherwise waterworn, almost very fine and very rare, six recorded with this die combination, only four of which are complete coins
