Iron-Age Britain, Catuvellauni, Cunobelin (AD 9-40), 'Wiry Hair' AR Unit, Camulodunum [Colchester], Gallic bust left [Vercingetorix ?] with 'flaming' hair, CAM-VL in surrounding fields, rev. Victory seated right, holding patera, annulet and pellet in right field, CVNO in exergue, 1.16g, 1h (VA 2045; ABC 2855; Spink 303), horn silver and patination to peripheries, otherwise of good fabric with traces of porosity, hints of lustre in recesses, near very fine / good very fine, the rarer of the portrait varieties with a tantalising allusion to the native Brythonic style
