A small but interesting file of documents relating to Squadron-Leader M.G. Reid D.F.C., C.D., 408 Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force, a skilled navigator on various large aircraft who participated in bombing missions across Europe - including V-1 rocket sites - and received the Distinguished Flying Cross from Earl Alexander of Tunis

The Lot comprises:

Typed letter, addressed to Flying Officer Reid and dated 10 November 1949, on Government House, Ottawa notepaper, from and signed by Field-Marshal Alexander of Tunis regarding the investiture of the D.F.C.

(ii)
Aircrew Classification Certificate, complete and dated 10 April 1956

(iii)
Certificate of Competence to Undertake First-Line Servicing of Aircraft, complete and dated 29 September 1955

(iv)
Oxygen Certification, complete and dated 21 September 1954

Included along with the above original documents is a typed summary of the recpient's career and photograph of his medals.
