The Flying Log Books and and pair of miniature dress medals worn by Flight Lieutenant (Navigator/Observer) N. Vale, Royal Air Force

Norman Vale served as part of 109 Squadron during the Suez Crisis flying with Flight Lieutenant O'Connor in the Canberra B6 WJ772. During this time he undertook raids on Cairo West and Huckstep (Military Supply Depot) between October and November 1956.

Later serving with No. 225 Squadron flying Westland Whirlwind Helicopters he served over Borneo, operating out of Kuching. During this time he was 'mentioned' for his services (London Gazette 13 December 1966, refers) on which were divided between the Squadron and R.A.F. Kuching Operations Staff. He ended his career with the rank of Flight Lieutenant on 11 March 1971; sold together with typed research, articles on the Suez Crisis and London Gazette entries as well as the recipient's log books.
