William Sharpe was born at Portsmouth on 3 September 1895 and was working as a member of the Dockyard Services upon his joining the Royal Navy on 8 September 1911. Serving with Implacable from 10 October 1916-11 July 1917, this was in the period when she returned to the 3rd Detached Squadron and was based at Salonika. In June 1917, Implacable was at Athens during the abdication of King Constantine I of Greece. A Shipwright 2nd Class by September 1924, he was sent to the Officer Section in March 1928 and made a Warrant Shipwright. He was still in the service by the Second World War and was a Shipwright Lieutenant by the time he reverted to the Retired List on 3 September 1945; sold together with copied Service Records.
