Thomas Perry was born at Carlton, Victoria in 1896 at lived at 20 Rosamund Street, Balaclava, working in a number of trades prior to enlistment on 13 March 1916 including Driver, Butcher and Pastry Chief's Assistant. He lived previous military experience with the Senior Cadets and the Citizens Force reaching a total of five years served. Entering the war in France on 25 November 1916 Perry was stationed with the 3rd Divisional Supply Column as a driver. Returning to Australia after the war Perry demobilised on 5 September 1919 and was demobilised the next month on 20 October; sold together with an original Record of Service Book and copied service papers.
