Alfred William Ambrose Blackhall was born at Shoreditch and enlisted at Stratford. He served in France with the 1st Battalion from 15 January 1915 and was killed in action on the 4 February 1915. Blackhall was the brother of John Blackhall of 11 Belmont Mansions, Goldsmith Row, Hackney Road, London.
