Albert Charles Amos was born in 1880 and worked as a machinist with a London gas company, later joining the reserves on 9 March 1909. Mobilised on 5 August 1914 as a Driver he was promoted Corporal on 8 February 1916 but didn't enter the war in France until 15 February 1917.
