Robert Goss was born at Nottingham in 1894, the son of Henry and Selina Goss of 4 Hardstaff Yard, Arnold, Nottingham. Enlisting at Nottingham Goss entered the war in France on 21 May 1915. The Battalion faced heavy fighting around Hooge in early August 1915, Goss died of wounds not long later on 11 August. He is buried at Boulogne Eastern Cemetery; sold together with copied research including Commonwealth War Graves details and M.I.C.
